It’s remarkable how apeshit so much of the media has gone over a Donald Trump gaffe that has been interpreted as endorsing an assassination of Hillary.

Not that Trump’s off-the-cuff remark wasn’t stupid; but he says stupid stuff all the time. What he specifically said was something along the lines of Hillary being a threat to the 2nd Amendment and then a casual aside that 2nd Amendment supporters could find their own way to deal with her. It is a misjudged thing for a presidential candidate to say; and it isn’t clear whether he was trying to be funny or being serious.

But there’s nothing new there – Trump’s entire campaign doesn’t seem sure whether it’s being funny or being serious.

I am by no means a Trump defender, as I have made clear: his entire campaign seems like a badly timed South Park parody at a time when America could actually do with a serious opposition to the Hillary campaign. But the media circus around his remark is clearly designed to draw focus away from any probing questions (or journalism) regarding Hillary, the DNC and any number of inconvenient facts that could seriously harm Hillary’s bid for the presidency.

I’m still half-convinced that the entire Trump pantomime has been a controlled opposition designed all along to ensure a Hillary victory.

But there is also astounding hypocrisy in the mass media outrage over Trump’s comment (or ‘how dare he call for the assassination of his political opponent’?), given the following.

Hillary Clinton strategist Bob Beckel has appeared on Fox openly calling for the assassination of Julian Assange. And unlike Trump, he wasn’t speaking in terms that leave room for interpretation: he was brazenly and openly suggesting violent, extra-judicial assassination. “I mean, a dead man can’t leak stuff,” he said. “The guy ought to be — and I’m not for the death penalty — so, if I’m not for the death penalty, there’s only one way to do it, illegally shoot the son of a bitch.”

This especially hostile attitude coming from someone in the Hillary camp isn’t surprising. Assange’s organisation, WikiLeaks, has published a number of incriminating documents that have shown Hillary in an extremely bad light: including the data from the DNC that demonstrated her campaign’s collaboration with American mainstream media organisations to undermine Bernie Sanders’ bid for the Democrat nomination.

And, as Claire Bernish notes, Beckel’s remarkably blunt statements have been echoed by Politico writer Michael Grunwald, who said he couldn’t “wait to write a defense of the drone strike that takes out Julian Assange”. Politico featured prominently in the embarrassing DNC leak that followed Bernie Sanders’ concession to Hillary and was revealed as one of the media organisations that worked with Hillary’s campaign to make sure all published material would be as positive as possible about the Clinton campaign.

Two people closely associated with the Hillary campaign both openly and blatantly proposing assassination: but the American MSM only wanted to talk about Donald Trump’s remarks.

But this isn’t new or surprising. The Trump circus has always served to prop up Hillary in the media and to generate ‘outrage’ over Trump’s behaviour in order to limit or prevent any outrage over any of the controversies surrounding Hillary.

I almost half suspect someone is telling Mr Trump precisely when to say the next outrageous thing so that the media can run with it.

The well-timed outrage over Trump’s antics isn’t the same when other people make equally (or actually far more dangerous) statements. For example, a psychopathic former CIA director, Michael Morell (who published an op-ed in the New York Times titled, ‘I Ran the CIA. Now I’m Endorsing Hillary Clinton’) recently appeared in a bizarre interview with veteran interviewer Charlie Rose, in which he advocated covertly killing Russians and Iranians involved in operations against ISIS and Al-Qaeda in Syria. “We need to make the Iranians pay a price in Syria. We need to make the Russians pay a price in Syria,” he says.

An unsettled Charlie Rose then asks, “We make them pay the price by killing Russians?”

To which Morell replies, “Yes… You don’t tell the world about it, right? You don’t stand up at the Pentagon and tell the world that we did this. Right? But you make sure they know it in Moscow and Tehran.”

That’s pretty worrying stuff to any sane person. Instead, the media is watching Trump for the next stupid comment so that everyone can be up in arms over that and not what’s happening on the other side.

For that matter, how much of the mainstream media has been covering the new batch of deaths associated with the Clinton campaign?

This video covers the matter of those deaths pointedly, referring to it as a new ‘Clinton Body Count’.

At least five anti-Hillary activists have died under questionable circumstances in the past few weeks. And while the American MSM obsesses for days on end about Trump saying this or that, there’s little or no interest in any investigative journalism or probing questions concerning these deaths.

Victor Thorn, ironically enough the very man who established the term “Clinton Body Count”, was shot dead in Pennsylvania on August 1st (on his 44th birthday). They say truth is often stranger than fiction and it almost seems like an ironic fictional twist that a guy who talked about Clinton-related murders has himself been murdered. Thorn was a journalist for American Free Press and was the author of a damning trilogy of books about the Clintons. His brother has apparently called it a suicide. Thorn himself had once said “If I’m ever found dead, it was murder. I would never kill myself.”

A day later, another activist, lawyer Shawn Lucas, was found dead in his bathroom. On July 1st, the 38-year old Lucas had served a lawsuit at the DNC headquarters in Washington D.C. The lawsuit was filed on behalf of Senator Bernie Sanders’ supporters and against the DNC and its Chair, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, for fraud, misrepresentation and deceptive conduct.

47-year old Joe Montano, aide to Hillary Clinton’s Vice President selection Tim Kaine (and Chair of the DNC prior to Debbie Wasserman Schultz), died on the very first day of the Democratic Convention (apparently of a heart attack), coinciding with WikiLeaks release of numerous damning emails.

27-year-old Seth Conrad Rich, a member of the DNC, was shot twice in Washington, as he walked on the street, talking to his girlfriend on his cellphone.

According to the Washington Post, Rich had been investigating possible instances of fraud and voter suppression perpetrated by the DNC. Rich was a web developer who had developed voter apps and was believed to have obtained direct knowledge of voter fraud. Julian Assange has himself strongly suggested that the damning DNC emails disclosed by WikiLeaks had been provided by a DNC insider (and that it was probably Seth Rich). This is the same leak, for the record, that Clinton and the DNC is claiming was the work of Putin and Russia.

Weeks before that, a former UN official named John Ashe was found dead in his home – reportedly having accidentally crushed his own windpipe with a barbell. Mr Ashe had been scheduled to testify in a bribery scandal concerning Chinese national, Ng Lap Seng, who has been been a major donor to important Clinton campaigns.

For the most part, the mainstream media in the US is ignoring all of this and working up a manufactured frenzy instead over Donald Trump’s bufoonish cartoonery.

Yet when things like this go on in Russia or China, the American corporate media is of course all over it and is eager to cite it as proof of corruption in foreign politics: when it goes on in America, the same media mostly observes a careful blackout.

Also sure to be ignored by US mainstream media, WikiLeaks just dropped another bombshell on the Clinton campaign, revealing that Hillary received over $100,000 from French industrial firm Lafarge, which she was a director of in the 1990s. France’s Lafarge has recently been exposed as covertly sponsoring ISIS in the Middle East for profit. Lafarge is a regular donor to the Clinton Foundation. During her work for the firm in the 1990s, the company was revealed to have been facilitating the CIA-sponsored supply of arms to Saddam Hussein’s regime in Iraq.

The US media isn’t interested in that. Just as it hasn’t been interested in any of the rest of Hillary Clinton’s horrendous track record, from Libya and Syria to Honduras, with everything else in between.

None of which is particularly a defense of the Trump campaign, which is itself a badly conceived comedy act. But Trump as the opposition is also an absolute god-send for Hillary, the DNC establishment and the mainstream, corporate media.

Good reporting!… Looks like Trump has read the US Constitution after all, and an even more interesting disclosure is that he’s also a purist in it’s interpretation.

As for the Clintons, their track record has been to infringe on “the peoples right” while at the same time use the 2nd Amendment for their own personal political gain.
