I would love to have been a fly on the wall when Donald Trump visited his future home, the White House, to meet Barak Obama on Thursday.

I mean, there’s a conversation it would’ve been fascinating to hear: a conversation between the first Black President of America and his soon-to-be successor – a man endorsed officially by the Ku Klux Klan. I mean, just process that for a moment and reflect on what it symbolizes for the direction of a society in the twenty-first century. (more…)

Thinking more about last week’s FBI announcement that the bureau would be further investigating Hillary Clinton’s emails – a decision that smells a little like a politically motivated maneuver to influence the election outcome – the suspicion continues to niggle that something else may be going on here.

By surprisingly re-awakening the FBI investigation into Hillary’s emails with just days to go until the election, we might tend to wonder if what we’re seeing are further seeds being planted for a bigger conspiracy, such as a potential constitutional crisis, cancellation of the election or even nullification of the result. I’m sure Hillary herself has no intention of standing aside and I doubt the conglomeration of corporations, banking interests and corporate media giants behind her candidacy would let her stand aside if she wanted to.

But she probably  should. And I don’t suggest this only because I have problems with Hillary Clinton for several reasons – but because it would seem to be in the common interests of both her party and the American people, along with the American political system and even the office of President itself, that she consider stepping aside. So Hillary is being investigated again by the FBI?

The FBI just announced the relaunching of its investigation into Hillary’s emails and personal server, apparently after discovering more emails “that appear to be pertinent to the investigation”. (more…)

That is to say, how he might accidentally save the world in his own bumbling, barely literate way.

I have no love for Donald Trump: he is a silly, self-worshiping, celebrity megalomaniac and a horrible misogynist, who has probably bitten off much more than he can chew.

And he may be America’s, and the Western world’s, best hope for achieving peace and averting a major military conflict. (more…)

With the extremely high possibility now of ‘President Hillary Clinton’, now seems a good time to anticipate what US foreign policy might look like under Hillary; and to recap some of the horror story of her foreign policy record to date.

Aside from the fact that she’s a proven liar, schemer and conspirator, and even putting aside the extent to which she is the President of choice for Wall Street, the bankers and financial institutions, the Israeli Lobby and the Neo-Con establishment, ‘President Hillary’ is a foreign-policy apocalypse waiting to happen. As the interest and hype started to build around the first presidential debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, I decided to conduct a little experiment based on the mythology of sorts surrounding the very first televised presidential debate: which had been between Richard Nixon and John F. Kennedy.

Protesters block I-277 during a third night of unrest following Tuesday's police shooting of Keith Lamont Scott in Charlotte, N.C., Thursday, Sept. 22, 2016. Gerry Broome, The Associated Press

Everything surrounding the violence and unrest in Charlotte has been fairly predictable – including most people’s reactions.

People now tend to be already decided, before these things even happen, whether they believe the entire thing is an externally-orchestrated ‘civil unrest’ conspiracy or whether it is a legitimate social justice movement responding to known and widely circulated instances of police brutality. It’s remarkable how apeshit so much of the media has gone over a Donald Trump gaffe that has been interpreted as endorsing an assassination of Hillary.
