A story that has appeared in a few outlets in recent days, principally the Times of Israel, may provide a clue to the real reason why Trump’s short-lived National Security Advisor Michael Flynn has been made to resign – and it has nothing to do with Russia.
It is also something people should really be paying attention to.

According to a report in the Times of Israel, ‘Trump wants Jewish billionaire to vet spy agencies’. President Trump is reportedly looking into assigning an Israeli/US billionaire from the world of finance ‘to lead a broad review of intelligence services’. (more…)

Opponents of US-led foreign interventions and wars may find themselves disappointed by the foreign policy paths the Trump-led White House ends up taking.

It hasn’t taken very long at all for the ill omens to appear. For all the talk of a new, inward-looking protectionism and a backing away from Neo-Con activity in the Middle East, suspicions build that the new administration may be all set to continue the Neo-Con agenda and soon commence hostile activity against Iran.

To conclude this series of posts anticipating the imminent change of residents at the White House, it is worth paying mind to the issue of foreign policy.

Not going to bother pouring over footage or images and talking about the credibility of the scenes, etc, as there are others who’ll probably be doing that already. I choose to assume/believe the attack really did happen as we’re told it did and that innocent people were hurt or killed.

Instead, as with the Nice attack earlier in the year, the best angle might be found if we direct our attention to a seemingly unrelated bit of information. (more…)

The controversy now rocking the Labour Party in Britain – which is now being blanketly labelled as an “anti-Semitic” party by the media – is actually a symptom of a much bigger problem.

One doesn’t have to be religious or Christian to appreciate the compelling and magical properties of the Nativity narrative, with all its evocative and timeless images and ideas and everything it evokes.
But anyone expecting to find any of that magic in modern day Bethlehem would be disappointed. Because, as is usually the case, reality is no match for myth or imagination.

The escalating unrest in Lebanon should be regarded as a cause for great concern.

Since August 22nd, violent protests have been unsettling the Lebanese capital, Beirut. The Prime Minister, Tammam Salam, has ominously warned that the Middle-Eastern nation could be “heading towards collapse if things continue as they are.”
